Exl-Plan Basic generates projections for five years ahead based on annual assumptions, and suits most types of businesses seeking first-cut or high-level projections. It handles one main revenue/cost group and incorporates both UK/International and US/Canadian formats.
Other Versions of Exl-Plan
The following is a brief introduction to the other versions of Exl-Plan which are more detailed and powerful than Exl-Plan Basic.
These versions can be used for preparing comprehensive financial projections, funding applications, budgets, business plans etc. for up to seven years ahead. They can also be used for strategic planning, financial appraisals and performance monitoring and can handle any type of business, with annual sales ranging from about $50,000 up to $100 million, engaged in manufacturing, distribution or services.
Based on a user's assumptions, all versions of Exl-Plan compile integrated financial projections (income statements, cashflows, balance sheets and ratios) and produce management and financial reports along with charts of key variables that can be displayed on the screen or printed.
Aside from Basic, the main versions of Exl-Plan are as follows:
| • | Micro for new and very small companies, sole traders or partnerships. Twelve-month projections for the first year. Makes projections for the second and third years on a quarterly basis. Handles one revenue/cost group. Distributed as shareware and commercial software. |
| • | Lite for new and small to medium-sized companies, sole traders or partnerships. Twelve-month projections for the first year. Projects for the second and third years on a quarterly basis. Handles two revenue/cost groups. Distributed as shareware and commercial software. |
| • | Pro for new and medium to large companies. Twelve-month projections for the first year. Projects for the second and third years on a quarterly basis and for the fourth/fifth years on an annual basis. Handles four revenue/cost groups. Distributed as shareware and commercial software. |
| • | Super for new and substantial companies. Twelve-month projections for the first year. Projects for the second and third years on a quarterly basis and for fourth/fifth years on an annual basis. Similar to Pro but includes a greater range of assumptions and additional planning tools. Handles six revenue/cost groups. Distributed as shareware and commercial software. |
| • | Super Plus for new and substantial companies. Similar to Super but handles ten revenue/cost groups. |
| • | Ultra for new and substantial companies. 36-month projections for the initial three years. Projects for the fourth and fifth years on a quarterly basis and, optionally, for sixth/seventh years on an annual basis. Otherwise similar to Super. Distributed as shareware and commercial software. |
| • | Ultra Plus for new and substantial companies. Similar to Ultra but handles ten revenue/cost groups. |
All these versions of Exl-Plan are available using either UK/International or US/Canadian accounting formats and terminologies - 14 variants in all. Different currency symbols and denominations (units, 000s, millions or billions) can be used.
